Chorale Committee Descriptions

|
CAPITAL FUND RAISING: Contacts the community and solicits monies for
the support of the Chorale. In conjunction with the Chorale treasurer,
sends acknowledgements to persons who advertise or contribute monies
to the Chorale. Sends complimentary tickets when applicable. CHORALE ARCHIVES: Maintains the Chorale scrapbook of programs and pictures.
CONCERT BROCHURES AND PROGRAMS: Prepares the brochure that is distributed
in late August detailing the concert schedule and information for donations
and ticket purchases. Prepares mock-up of programs including cover design,
advertising, lists of members and contributors. Takes program to printer
and distributes it at concerts. CONCERT COORDINATOR: Manages all activities and tasks necessary for
concert performances by contacting and working closely with committee
Chairpersons and other responsible persons. Visits venues to determine
how needs will be met. FINANCE: Prepares annual budget. Sees that the treasury records are reviewed before April 1 for the United Way Grant. Assures that records are audited or reviewed before the annual meeting. Chair: Jim Cosgrove, Treasurer GRANT PREPARATION: Prepares application forms for securing grant monies
from the United Way, Maryland State Arts Council, Queen Anne's County
Arts Council, and others as they become available. HOSPITALITY: Makes all arrangements for receptions following concerts
or special rehearsals and Chorale social functions. LIBRARIAN: Distributes, collects, and stores music. MEMBERSHIP (MAILING LISTS): Maintains separate, on-going lists with
addresses and telephone numbers of members, former members, contributors
and friends, advertisers and Youth Chorus parents. Provides mailing
labels and copies of lists as needed for other committees. Provides
Section Leaders with attendance lists at the beginning and midpoint
of the season. MEMBERSHIP (RECRUITMENT): Responsible for recruitment of new chorale
members and annual "open rehearsal". PERSONNEL: Evaluates the work of the Chorale's Artistic Director, Accompanist, and Youth Chorale Director annually and prepares a report to the president to be kept on file and distributed to the above. Chair: Peggy Owens PUBLIC RELATIONS (PUBLICITY AND ADVERTISING): Responsible for all publicity
and advertising of Chorale concerts and functions. STAGE DÉCOR AND FLOWERS: Responsible for placing stage decorations
at concerts and buying/presenting flowers to the director or other appropriate
persons. SUNSHINE FUND: Sends cards and /or flowers when appropriate for illness
or bereavement of chorale members and close family members. TICKETS (PREPARATION AND PRINTING): Designs tickets and has them printed
and numbered. Distributes tickets to Chorale and Youth Chorus members
and keeps an accounting of all tickets and money. Is responsible for
finding and working with a non-singer (friend or spouse of Chorale members)
who will distribute and sell tickets at Chorale performances. USHERS: Provides ushers and a "greeter" for the concerts
who will collect tickets, direct and seat audience members, and provide
an attendance count to the Tickets Chairperson. WEBSITE: Responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining a website
for the Chorale. YOUTH CHORUS: Serves as liaison between the Board of Directors and
the YC, including any board or committee created by YC parents in support
